Authenticator Setup
PaxTime uses a 6-digit time-based one-time password (TOTP) to protect settings from unauthorized changes. Only someone with the authenticator app can adjust schedules or add extra time.
Recommended Apps
Install one of these free authenticator apps on your phone:
- Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Authy (iOS / Android / Desktop)
Setup Steps
- Open the setup page
Navigate to
/mp/setupon your PaxTime device. - Scan the QR code
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on screen. If you can't scan, you can manually enter the secret key displayed below the code.

- Enter the verification code
Your authenticator app will display a 6-digit code. Enter this code on the PaxTime setup page to complete activation.

Unlocking the Device
When you need to make changes:
- Go to the home page
Open
/mpin your browser. - Tap "Unlock"

- Enter the current code
Open your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code shown.
- Make your changes
The device stays unlocked for about 5 minutes, then locks automatically.
Time Sync Required
TOTP codes depend on accurate time. If your codes aren't working, make sure your phone's time is set automatically. If PaxTime shows a time warning, reconnect it to Wi-Fi to sync its clock.
